Ghosted from Blackrock after multiple interviews/superday

I don't know where to start. I've never been through such a negative interview experience like Blackrock. I went through 6 rounds of interviews just for them to ghost me. No response from the recruiter or anyone on the team and its been about a month since I interviewed with them. Keep in mind, they didn't even give me the courtesy to postpone the final round to a week later as I was going through a medical issue. What really frustrates me is the lack of any professionalism. It's fine if I get rejected but if they don't even have the decency to notify me in any way, what does that say about them as a company.

To all future interviewers don't be afraid to renege their offer if you find something better because honestly this needs to go both ways.

Based on the highest ranked content on WSO, here are some insights and advice regarding being ghosted after multiple interviews:

  1. Common Experience:

    • Many candidates have shared similar experiences of being ghosted after multiple rounds of interviews, including at top firms like Morgan Stanley and other global BBs. This seems to be a recurring issue in the industry.
  2. Lack of Professionalism:

    • The frustration with the lack of professionalism is a common sentiment. Candidates often feel disrespected when they are not given a courtesy rejection or any form of communication after investing significant time and effort into the interview process.
  3. Advice for Future Candidates:

    • It's important to manage expectations and understand that ghosting can happen, even with reputable firms.
    • If you find a better opportunity, don't hesitate to pursue it, as the relationship should be reciprocal. If a company can ghost you, you should feel empowered to make the best decision for your career without feeling obligated to them.
  4. Emotional Impact:

    • Being ghosted can feel personal and disheartening, but it's crucial to remember that it often reflects more on the company's internal processes and culture rather than your qualifications or worth as a candidate.
  5. Moving Forward:

    • Continue to apply to other opportunities and keep your options open. Networking and building relationships within the industry can also help mitigate the impact of such experiences.
