Got fired a month ago... How long did it take you to find a new job?

I was laid off a month ago as our firm (small REPE) was significantly downsizing. I was able land multiple interviews through my connection, but I haven't been able to secured an offer yet. For those of you who have lost their coveted front office jobs before, how long did it take you guys to secure an offer? I don't have much saved up, so I'm starting to worry that this process might take longer than expected.

I would expect 4-5 months to find another job. Not uncommon for the interview process alone to take upwards of 3 months. Definitely apply for unemployment in the meantime!

~ 6 months is probably about right. You want to ideally hold out for a good position that's a good fit rather than taking the first thing that comes up because you're desperate for cash. Would echo what others have said too and apply for unemployment. I know you have to swallow your pride a bit but ultimately you've likely already paid more into it than you will ever use so you're entitled to it. Would get on that quickly too as you can't claim it in arrears so the longer you wait, the more money you're leaving on the table.

Good luck.
