GS developer vs Barclays Capital quant
I have an offer from GS to join them as a developer and an offer from Barclays capital to join them as a quant. I prefer to be a quant than a developer, but Goldman looks like a better place to be. Do you guys think that it's possible to make the transition from developer to quant within GS? Any advice on which offer to take?

Definitely quant - no questions asked. Moving firms is much easier than moving roles.
I agree, barcap without a doubt, plus its not ibd so the difference between gs and barcap in terms of "prestige" is not that important imo...
Fantastic, thanks for your comments. I did think Barcap quant was the better choice because of the reasons you guys have posted above, but GS has a strong brand and generates unnecessary doubts.
By the way, corto maltese, what is "ibd"?
