Guidance appreciated - Warwick grad

Hey-

I graduated from Warwick Bsc Economics with a 2.1 about a month ago.

I lead multiple societies and have experience in AM (london last year), PE (developing country) among others.

I did not land a SA or a FT position right after graduating. I flopped some interviews, disappointing but we move. Now, I think I got what it takes to land something. What should I do to increase my chances to land on a finance role in london (BB or EBs) now that I couldn’t land something for the summer? Should I do anything to compensate? Is it done for me? Advice is welcome

May be misunderstanding how you meant the post, but from what I see I think you’re being a little ignorant/arrogant when you say only BBs or EBs. You have average grades from a target but there’s a bunch of people with very similar stats who couldn’t break in at all. You’ve already graduated so you’re well behind where you should be - which is completely fine, but expecting opportunities into firms that have pipelines starting year 1 springs is not very realistic.

you could apply for off cycles for Jan of 2024 but would recommend doing that quickly since those might be closing too. If you’re really dead set on an EB/BB would recommend a masters.

Thanks for your feedback. Let me re-adapt. How do I break into IB in london? Even smaller/random shops. Just want to be in the game before it’s too late and work my way laterally into the bigger boys.
