Help - How to leverage past work experience and pivot? AM Equity Research to?

Looking to leverage past work experience in equity research AM and pivot but not sure how to do it.

I was part of a fund restructuring and joined a fintech company to scratch my entrepreneurial itch but i'm not happy with the move and want to move back into finance in any capacity. I worked in AM for a few years prior and have some commercial banking experience but no sell-side experience.

I'm considering trying to break into IB or sell-side ER / Trading but i'm not sure (other than networking) how to best leverage my experience from equity research AM.

Would love to hear from anyone who has leveraged past work experience in the past to make a pivot of any sort.

Thanks.
