Help with cold email

This is the current template I'm using to cold email search funds and ask for an internship. I've sent 30 so far with 15 opens (according to my plugin that tracks when an email is opened) and of the ones that were opened, only 1 replied back agreeing to a call.

"Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is (name) and I am a rising sophomore studying (major), interested in the search fund sector.

I understand you are probably busy, but I would greatly appreciate an opportunity to briefly speak with you about your experience operating (fund name). I can adjust my schedule to accommodate a time that works best for you, but how does 4:00 PM EST on (I list the next 2 workdays here) sound?

My resume is attached for reference.

Best regards,

(name)"

Am I searching for an internship too late? I thought for freshmen most less competitive smaller firm internships were still open into the spring. If you guys could help me see what I'm doing wrong or could improve to get a better response rate, that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
