Hiring Freeze
Is there actually a formal hiring freeze going on? I was told by Truist that I would have been hired however they are under a freeze with no understanding when it would end. They did mention they would reach out when it did end. What are the odds I actually get reached out and is it worth it to wait?
Definitely don’t attempt to wait out a hiring freeze. You really don’t know how long it could last and nor does the firm — weeks, months … a year? I’ve heard some whispers about a handful of firms that have put in place hiring freezes, but terms of a hiring freeze can vary. A hiring freeze could mean that only positions currently budgeted for can be hired. It can mean that there are no net new hires, so if someone leaves, you can replace them. Or it can mean no hiring whatsoever.
I got a verbal offer from Truist today...
