How do I become a Real Estate Analyst with no experience??

So I have had a passion for real estate since graduating from my master's program (Urban Planning) 5 years ago. Since graduation I've been working for my family's asphalt paving business, so completely unrelated. I recently decided to follow my own path and dive into the real estate development industry. I've been networking online with some success and applying to any position I can find with no success. As you can imagine companies aren't looking for someone with my lack of experience.

Therefore, I've decided to switch up my job search a bit and look for similar jobs (real estate agent, leasing coordinator, property manager, etc.). My question is how should someone like me attempt break into the industry? Real estate agent? Leasing coordinator? Or something else that I haven't thought of yet?
