How do I go from financial services to a hedge fund

I need help. How do I go from being a financial advisor to a hedge fund career? I enjoy a lot of the benefits of being financial advisor but half of what I do is sales, and the other half is relationship building. My masters degree studies were predominantly in economics, and capital markets, so I want to utilize my knowledge and interests on a daily basis, unlike now.

I understand that getting into a hedge fund is one of the more difficult things to accomplish in finance. In addition, I live in Miami where hedge fund doesn't actually jump to mind. But I've decided that this is what I want to pursue, so I shouldn't waste any more time in putting a plan together to try an achieve this goal.

Any and every practical advice would be extremely helpful.

Thank you
