How do I renege on an offer (MBB)

Hey all, I’m a college senior who interned at one of the MBB consulting firms last summer and subsequently got and accepted a FT offer.

I accepted the offer because: 1. I really liked the firm/quality of work, 2. There weren’t any other cool positions open that I was interested in, and 3. COVID summer made me pretty anxious about the state of the economy/potential hiring freezes.

I recently applied for 2 new positions that opened up (I’m gonna be pretty vague, but they’re both in tech). I typically wouldn’t have applied for new roles after having accepted an offer, but I planned on using MBB to pivot into positions similar to the 2 so I saw them as rare opportunities.

I’ve already interviewed and gotten an offer for one, and I suspect that I’ll get an interview for the other. How do I renege?
