How do you get a junior year finance internship with no prior experience?

To get a full-time offer at a BB in IBD, you need a junior-year internship. Sadly, it seems like you need a prior internship in finance to even get the junior-year internship.

I'm a sophomore with a 4.0 GPA, studying CS at a target, with internships at 2 tech companies under my belt (and I just took an offer from a hot Bay Area startup for sophomore summer). I want to try getting into IB, so I'm teaching myself accounting and getting an econ minor.

I applied to a lot of boutique banks for spring internships this semester and got absolutely no replies. What am I doing wrong? How do I fix myself to get an IB internship junior year?

My best friend from high school goes to a piece of shit university, majors in physics, hasn't even taken business courses other than accounting, and landed an SA position his junior year.

Network your ass off, take a boring PWM internship this summer, and make it happen next year.

If you are willing (able) to take an unpaid internship this summer, I think you can still find boutiques that are hiring. What's your location? NY, West coast, dirty south?
