How fucked am I for full time?
Interned at a boutique not EB and now I am about to start full time at an EB. Didn't really touch models during my summer internship and I do not come from a finance background. I have been vacationing up until now and have not started prepping for full time - how fucked am I? I have passed my SIE and Series 63 but have not prepped for work. Any recommendations on what to do? Or are expectations that low for first years?
Modeling is not rocket science and you can be sufficiently fluent in a few weeks after you start full time. The “non-academic/jock” types I worked with back in banking (not D1 student athletes - really just meatheads) were able to get up the curve very quickly.
Dude you won’t do any modeling the first 3-4 months relax
Second the responses here. Your firm should give you some formal training to start and will ramp you up over several months - not worth stressing about.
People love to act like modeling is some mysterious, big brain activity when in reality a monkey could do it if you just tell it the right assumptions. You’ll get the hang of it in no time.
Another humble brag posts, how many kids crave recognition these days? Did your parents not give you enough love or something? Yay, you got into an “EB” after a mediocre summer internship, congrats.
