how long will this hiring boom last?

Seems that many banks and consulting firms are desperate for talent and they are taking laterals more readily that would have been quite difficult in the past. How long do you think this hiring boom in banking and consulting will last? And do you think this has changed the mindset of needing an MBA to make career moves into Banking and Consulting if you are coming from adjacent areas such as Big 4?
