How much do banks really talk?
I've read all sorts of horror stories about banks (esp BBs) talking to each other, and I wonder if anyone has had any personal experiences to share and/or can attest to how true this really is.

Interesting Situation with Offers/Communication Between Banks (Originally Posted: 09/18/2007)
If a student interns at a bulge-bracket after sophomore year and doesn’t get an offer, goes to another top bulge-bracket for junior year and gets an offer, does he/she have a shot at an offer for full-time for the first firm? Or is the institutional memory enough that that probably would not happen?
Also, do bulge bracket banks frequently talk to each other during the recruitment process? Might the firm where the student got the offer during junior summer find out that he/she is applying to the original firm again full time?
Thank you!
Ive been told that the few sophomores who manage to get internships at good BB positions don't get FT offers. FT offers are only for junior interns.
