How should an undergrad student maintain connections?

I am an incoming freshman at a top 25 school. I had multiple people help me with my college decision over the month of April and now have ended up with a few contacts that could be really useful down the road.

1st connection is a VP at a BB who linked me up with the other two that I am going to mention. My question does not really apply to this person as he is a family connection.

2nd connection is an executive director at a BB. This person went to a school that I decided against going to but strongly considered. Loved talking to this person. Incredibly insightful and would love to keep him as a connection. After I was finished talking to this person, they literally said: "hey, there is someone (3rd connection) right next to me who went to (school I eventually enrolled in), would you like to talk to them?"

3rd connection is an analyst at the same BB (and same division) as #2. This person's alma mater is the school I am going to attend. The pitch that this person made for the school was incredible (not that it made me immediately decide where I was going), and is in the position I hope to be in once I graduate.

How do I keep a connection with these people without being "annoying" or appearing "desperate." What could I occasionally email that they would appreciate? Like a "hey hows it going" seems incredibly cliche and lame. Should I email them and ask if they could spare a few minutes to talk about the path they took to get where they are now, since the first time we talked it was strictly about colleges? I have some questions about the clubs/organizations at my university; should I ask connection #3 if they could spare some time to talk to me about that?

Add them on LinkedIn. Keep up with them periodically via email or phone.
