How to network when banks recruit at your school

I am a rising senior at a semi-target or target uni where all the major banks recruit via our On-Campus Recruiting network. Recruiting for full-time positions has started early this fall and I want to know how to best leverage my contacts to get interviews.

I've done two internships (both in PWM) at two major BBs. One was this summer as a summer analyst. I've made a few contacts at both these places as well as at other firms around NYC.

Should I be using these contacts to ask for interviews using my school's OCR resources (asking if they know the recruiter at my school)? Or should I be trying to ask them for interviews directly at their firm and bypass my schools OCR session? What is the timeline for making my ask? While OCR interviews are in full swing? Or does it not matter?

Also if I have a contact in, say, S&T, but would interview better in Risk Management, it is more beneficial for me to ask if my S&T contact knows someone in RM or am I better off just asking for an interview in S&T?
