How to search for new jobs while working??

Hi all,

I will be doing an off-cycle internship this spring (until mid June) and I haven't landed a summer internship yet. I would like to work during the summer (mainly due to financial reasons but also for experience) however, I don't know how it will be possible to attend interviews during the spring as I will work banking hours? I've never worked full-time in this industry before and I'm not sure about the "unwritten rules" – is it OK to leave for an hour for interviews, doctor's appointments, etc? Should I be honest and say that I have an interview for a summer job, or should I lie and say I have an appointment etc?

I will be working from the office for reference.

Thankful for any input.

Depending on when the interview is, chances are it is a virtual meeting. If they are capable of arranging f2f meetings, make up a believable excuse. You are an intern, not the MD. Nobody can blame you for looking for jobs; you have a right to earnings.

If you are planning on returning to the current firm, better not advertise other jobs/employers.
