Hybrid work schedule (office in Philly). Live in Philly or suburbs?
Hi All, Similar to crookedhillary’s post, I'm curious at to whether those in the Philly area that are looking at a hybrid work schedule (2 or 3 days in office) post-Covid will be in the city or the suburbs. I myself am considering whether to move to Philly since that's where my new office is (started new role in 2021).
And for those who are thinking of going fully remote, will you be in the city, the suburbs, or not in even in PA? Why?
Thank you in advance!

Strongly depends on age but regardless if I were you, I would strongly consider Conshy. Train to the city, very affordable housing, a ton of young people, cheaper suburban taxes.
Thanks! I've been leaning towards the suburbs more recently. I just don't think I'm a city person. One reason being I'm a big runner so being near the schuylkill river trail would be nice. I'm 30, single, no kids. My parents also recommended Devon, Chesterbrook, and Wayne but I think the nightlife in Conshy is better than in those three.
Also struggling with the buy vs. rent decision but both are high right now. lol
I had someone talk down to me a bit about Conshy being expensive and Roxborough being more affordable but I doubt they took the city tax into account. Some of the apartment complexes in Conshy are expensive (Riverwalk, Londonburry, The Courts at Spring Mill Station) but there are also cheaper options.
The cheaper options have less amenities, but honestly I can do without a business center, pool, and clubhouse. All three of the complexes above (as well as the two complexes currently being built) had severe flooding due to Ida and probably sustained some sort of damage so I'm more inclined to be somewhere farther away from the river.
For those considering condos, The Grande is pretty much the only condo complex in Conshy I've seen had openings. The condo market seems to be much smaller than the rental market. Condo prices seem more inflated than rent IMO. Renting would allow me to invest more of my take-home pay but not sure if the return on the stock market would exceed the return on real estate.
