Hi guys, I am a freshman still looking for a internship and recently got in contact with a small WM agency close to me via email.
She told me they were "pretty much set" for this coming year but "found my info to be impressive" and forwarded it to her Managing partner in charge.
She then said to call her office to make an appointment where she will be in a better position to assist me after she has met me.
My question: Is this an interview? Is there still a potential opening that she is not telling me about? Why would she lead me on like this? Either way I am going to go and hope for the best, I just don't want to get my hopes up if this turns out to be nothing...
Also, if she does in fact tell me they are full for the summer, is there any way I could ask to work "just for the experience?" Money is not an option (although it would be nice) as I am also working another job and I would expect this to be more of a part-time opportunity.

Hey, to me this sounds like an informational interview of sorts, judging by the language she's choosing to use. Maybe she knows someone who may want to take a summer intern on. Or, they could very well be wanting to see what your elevator pitch is since they were impressed by your resume. Either way, your best bet is to go there, dress spiffy (depending on the culture of the place, but I wouldn't go a knotch lower than jeans and blazer).
If you show that you're willing to work hard, you don't mind volunteering, and that you're an interesting person who they work with day-to-day (read: not socially awkward), then you have a strong case for why you should be hired.
Don't be too aggressive. Chill out. It's not exactly a formal interview.

Pretty much what byucko said but I would NOT wear jeans. You don't need a tie, though. It's probably going to be informal in the way you guys talk so just be chill and chat. Be ready to pitch yourself though. PWM tends to be unpaid anyway so asking to work "just for the experience" wouldn't really do anything. Good luck.
