IBD Data Resources Group SLC

I have a dilemma in selecting a job for next year. There are a few potential opportunities and I want to seek opinions on.

Background: I am not a target school, 3.8+ GPA student and I don't want to work strictly in investment banking so a lot of the forums on DRG don't apply to me. I do like the area of investments, but I would not want to be an investment banker. I would be happy to go into investment research 2 years or so after starting this position. Is this a possible exit op within Goldman? I would also have interest going into operations, corporate finance/accounting. Any other exit ops within GS that are not IB?

I also have an offer at a smaller less known company (Fortune 500) that does tech. I would be a financial analyst there. It is also in a small city (probably smaller and less central than SLC). Please let me know what sounds more appealing and how important is the Goldman name when looking for a new job in 2-3 years versus a less well known and respected company?
