If you were me...

Without getting too specific. I am a recently transitioned veteran, with 6 years of service. I graduated from a service academy where I thought only of my future military career post college, and was not afforded opportunities to complete summer internships. I recently landed a rotational job at a bank and was assigned my first rotation in operations. Although I am not interested in operations, I am making the most of the experience and using my time to learn the bank and find opportunities for future finance rotations. I am located in a major U.S. city, but not NY (limiting options slightly). My goal is to supplement OJT with a PMBA at a (not top 10, but regionally respected) school in order to catch-up some hard skills I missed out on. Post completion of PMBA and rotations, I am open to relocation to NY. In general, I view this time as an opportunity to network everywhere and find the right career path for me.

Lets say: 1) ibd jobs are limited where I'm at, but FO roles do exists; 2) I am financially incentivized to stay put for the next 2-3 years, but am open to relocation; 3) I have the ability to network into any line of business in the bank; and 4) I have the humility to understand my 6 years in the military will yield me a "TYFYS" but not a mid-career starting point. If you were me, you would try and do (...) for your next rotation(s) on a path to a career in (...)?
