Impact of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy on Future in Finance

Hello everyone,

After over 6 years in corporate M&A and development—a career path that I thoroughly enjoyed—I took a leap in 2020 to start my own venture. Fast forward four years, and I'm now faced with the tough decision of potentially closing down my business and filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Given this, I'm turning to this community for guidance: What impact could filing for Chapter 7 have on job prospects in corporate development, M&A, or the finance industry more broadly? If you've been through a similar situation or have any insights on making this transition, your advice would be incredibly valuable.

Thank you much for any perspectives or advice you can offer!
