Include this on a resume?
I'm a rising senior at a Canadian target school gearing up for FT recruiting and I'm just fine tuning my resume. Last winter, I built a predictive NFL model that beat the point spread 61% of the time on a fairly large sample size, so it is insightful and works. It wasn't as much of a gambling tool as just a fun project for me, because I love football and got a sense of satisfaction from seeing my model do well. I feel that the model could be a good talking point in an area that I'm very confident in, but I worry about gambling's negative connotation. Would you guys include it on your resume?
Yeah, I don't think there's a problem with it at all and frankly if you're looking on the trading side this could be directly applicable. Lots of candidates put poker etc. which is a hell of a lot less interesting than this.
