infrastructure at Jane Street for middle aged Silicon Valley burnout?

A couple friends got jobs at Jane Street over the past year. They can get me an interview on the infrastructure team. They are actually math PhDs, though so don't have too much insight into what the infrastructure team does.

I'm wondering if doing dev ops type stuff at Jane Street is better for pay, job security, and working hours than at a place like Google or a silicon valley startup. I just turned 40 so I feel very over the hill in Silicon Valley, and would like to relocate to NYC. Jane Street sounds cool given the descriptions from my friends and the website but I'm not sure how it plays out in reality. Any insight would be appreciated.
