International US target - move to UK for FT

Since the US immigration is getting tougher these days and my school (US Ivy top target) is on the list for UK High Potential Individual (HPI) Visa, I am thinking of moving to UK for FT. I wonder if it's gonna be worth it applying for IBD FT role in the UK without any background to the country.

Btw, I will work at an IBD SA at a BB in Asia (think SG/HK) this summer (penultimate year) but not sure if I will receive a return offer due to headcount issues, so I'm thinking of rerecruiting.Thank you very much for all the insights!

Also went to a US target for undergrad (not Ivy) and gave UK recruiting a shot - received several interviews at top BBs and EBs. I am European though so it could have played a role, but I also felt like going to a top US school helped
