Internship advice wanted
I am currently a sophmore from a non-target looking to get into IB when I graduate. My current experience is that I interned for a VC firm last summer.
My options now seem to be an 11 month internship at Morgan Stanley in PWM (it starts in January) where I would basically just try to bring in new clients, or an equity research internship at a small boutique PWM shop where the commitment is only till the spring.
Should I take one of these? I am thinking I will take the MS position and try to spin that into an IB internship after my Junior year.
MS, even if its PWM its still the name. Unless you really love ER.
That's a tough one, I'd probably say MS but see if you can get a boutique IB position instead.
Is it MS PWM or MSSM?
Not sure what MSSM is, sales and marketing? But just to add more detail about the position, I would be working directly under a financial advisor, and my primary function would be to bring in more clients--so not directly learning new finance skills.
