Sorry to break it to you dude, but I wouldn't put that on my resume. Look for something else if you can.
might as well do a primerica internship..if that crap still even exists
Yeah, we are seeing some mixed reviews on Ameriprise Financial. Most are coming from wealth management branch offices. It's not a trading floor. 4 ratings so far: http://www.internshipking.com/ameriprise-financial-internship-reviews
Ameriprise Internship OK for Freshman? (Originally Posted: 01/29/2012)
I am a freshman at a target university now and was offered a internship at Ameriprise in wealth management. I want to be in investment banking but had trouble finding banking internships as a freshman.
Will this internship help my resume (i don't really have other finance experience) or should I keep looking/do something else this summer? I know ameriprise doesn't get a lot of love on this board.
It's better then nothing. Keep looking and if nothing else shows, take it.
perfectly fine, most of us slaved under a FA for a semester
Ameriprise Financial Unpaid Internship --- Yes or No? any advice? (Originally Posted: 11/20/2011)
I was offered a three month unpaid internship at Ameriprise Financial. Its under the wealth management sector.
what i would be doing: I would be cold calling prospective clients for four hours a week for twelve weeks and its a winter internship. After those three months, I might have the chance to start attending appointments with prospective clients and start doing financial analysis and managing and directing actual money.
Its not an amazing internnship but I was wondering if anyone had any advice? I want to do investment banking on wall street after i graduate and was wondering if this might help me towards that?
Thanks All
Well you can either take this internship or the other internship you landed.. oh wait..
YIKES
Smile and dial, pig.
this is a rite of passage and fire for most finance kids. suck it up.
Recooooooooo!
Everyone's gotta start somewhere. Just be glad you're not doing it for 40 hours a week
You need something with the words 'bank' 'finance' 'fund' etc... on your resume in order to work your way into the system. Suck it up. For what it's worth, I work with a guy that came out of Ameriprise.
