Internship Decision Help - Grad school part time
hey all,
I'm in grad school part time, am in the midst of transitioning from a technical background into the world of finance, and need some good ol'internet advice.
This past week, I received 2 offers for internships at IB's, for positions beginning now. Each could be great learning experience, as I am new to finance, and am seeking all the experience I can get. I would rather work for one firm than the other. I have it figured out that I could work 3 days @ one, and 2 days @ the other.
Question is, should I focus on one internship and doing well in school? Or should I kill myself by working at (2) internships and go to school?
Secondly, is it going to look questionable to recruiters down the road when I explain to them how I managed to work 2 internships simultaneously? Meaning that working 2 jobs might water down my experience.
thanks
I definitely wouldn't try juggling two IB jobs at the same time, even if it were possible (Which I don't think it is). An IB internship is (from what I've seen/heard) almost exclusively full-time. Having one and going to school, unless the internship is really laid back, would be almost impossible. Having two would most definitely be impossible.
That's just my opinion though. Good luck with whatever you end up choosing.
agreed
thanks for the initial feedback. I'll note that while the positions are for dynamic and competitive firms, they are boutique firms which have each given me a tentative schedule of only 15-20hrs/week. I can't for see them working me the hours that BB are know for.
