Internships that Recruit After Banking Processes End

Fellow monkeys,

I have been reading this site for about a year, and have recently started actively posting. I would love to draw upon the massive knowledge bank possessed by WSO!

I began this fall having networked heavily for banking. I had supers with LAZ NYC and EVR NYC. However, I realized banking wasn't for me, and that my interests lay elsewhere - I have a lot of experience in the form of internships in equity research, and tried to get into some ER processes last minute. I managed to get a super with GS GIR in NYC, but it may not work out (I still haven't heard back and my super was yesterday).

I had canceled all of my remaining banking supers, thinking I could get in ER pipelines. However, I out of opportunities, and have no internship to show for it. I would appreciate any advice any wise monkeys would have for me regarding other internships.

I know that most finance internships at banks wrapped up around the same time (ER, S&T, etc.), and am now clueless as to what to pursue next summer. I am interested in structured finance/corporate banking internships, but at this point I do not have room to be picky. What sort of internships would you recommend I look into for the coming summer, as a non-target with near perfect GPA/SAT/ACT who has equity research experience in an international finance center (think London, HK, etc.)? Are any banks still recruiting for non-IB positions?

Thank you for any insight you might have!
