Interview result follow up

Folks,

I had an interview with one of the boutique investment bank last Friday and I think it went well. The MD interviewed me took me to see the founding partner after having a 30-min interview ( i think it's a good sign, right?).

Anyway, after the interview he told me that he will keep in touch with me this week and I know I probably should wait until at least the end of this week to follow up. But i wonder if I should take the initiative to follow up on the results? What do you guys think?

In that case, I would send a follow-up email tomorrow late morning/early afternoon asking where they were in the interviewing process, and whether there is anything else that they need from you. Thank them again for the opportunity and let them know that you look forward to their decision. Short, sweet, to the point and perfectly acceptable.

I was in the EXACT same situation, and in all truth didnt follow up enough - I didnt want to be "a bother." HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE MOVE. obviously, no offer.

for God's sake, follow up. be cordial. if they dont respond to your email in 3 days (Monday afternoon), give them a call. be overly nice to the receptionist. if you go to voicemail, call back the next day and every day after until you get someone on the phone live.

bankers need to have initiative, dont be afraid to show it.

good luck my man.

Thanks so much for the replies guys! I just got back from the MD via email and was told he is away in Europe till the end of next week. What do you guys think that I'm supposed to do in the meanwhile?
