Introduction/ General Questions
Hello all! Just wanted to introduce myself on here and see what kind of feedback I could get on a few things. I'm very interested in IB but don't come from the best 1. area of the country for it and 2. university where banks recruit. I'm a junior and need an IB intern over summer 2015, and the longer I have been without any significant internships or work experience the worse off I am. I will have to land on boutique most likely, not that that's bad but I definitely prefer BB. I may even have to resort to equity research, PWM, corporate finance instead at first. Id appreciate any general advice I can get from someone with a little more insight and experience. Anyone know about how I can still break in, even though not from the biggest and best university, without experience, etc. Thanks guys
i am praying to god your real name is not james everett simpson
Yeah I guess that is stupid to put my name, I changed it. But I'd really like some help with this. How important is the sophomore intern, especially coming from a non-target?
I have honestly never heard of that school and I am in Texas. How's your GPA? Any chance you can transfer schools? UT-Austin would be a good bet. If your grades are really good, then you may have a shot at Rice.
3.4 so far but the problem is that the credits hardly transfer because it is private school. Feels like I am just stuck with this school because of that. But it isn't a bad school I would compare it to Baylor-its just difficult to meet bankers in such a remote area and it isnt recruited by any major banks. I was mainly curious how the marijuana charge would play out, how likely is it to gain a second year internship while serving probation? It asks on applications if you have been "convicted" which I am not. If you have any insight on this from your experience please let me know
