Is (g)mailtracker shit or am I using it wrong?

Whenever I read one of my sent emails, gmail tracks it has having been read by the recipient. That's pretty useless. Because it says most of my emails were read, when that's probably just because I clicked back on most of those same emails.

Also, in the mail report it says 0 of my emails have been clicked. That is incorrect, as one person has replied to me.

Is it just shit? Should I switch to something else?

I wouldn't use trackers. Personally when I get a read receipt request from the sender I always get triggered and decline to provide.

Might be (probably is) just me being petty. There was an MD on another team at my prior firm who always sent around emails with read receipts attached and "god fuck that guy" was the general sentiment in the office.
