Usually not; but if you went to a really good school, one that’s known to be difficult or majored in something difficult, then yes there could be a wow factor in having a really high gpa

 

^^^if you have a 4.0 in Princeton ORFE, MIT Astrophysics — that’s a wow factor. That is probably 0.00001% of finance students, so usually gpa is just a check in the box

 

Every damn resume has a 3.9/4.0. Hence why I gun for my fellow gritty 3.5ers.

Edit: But actually, I’d take an athlete with 3.5 over a kid with a 4.0 who does nothing but class and “investment club” any day. Showing you’re well rounded, smart and genuinely interested in the line of work is the most important.

 

think it's just more of a check in the box to see if you're able to keep up with school work or not, would argue that everything after 3.75 is relatively the same
