If you gathered 100 bankers in a room, about 40 would consider "iit bombay" a strong full target for Goldman and about 60 would consider it a non-semi target. Either way, you're looking at a strong-full-non-semi target, which is a great spot to be in. Just network hard with your alumni and you should be fine. Don't worry about a thing, plenty of MDs have told me you should just be having fun in college. You're already ahead of the game. Great to meet you and best of luck in the process.

international students in the US who go to HYPSM, top publics etc. have a hard enough time getting hired for being international students. Your shot from ANY school not in the US is close to 0. Any school in India is literally negative. Real advice would be to drop the pursuit for GS NYC out of undergrad and look for other (more realstic) options as there will be a lot of great opportunities as long as you do'nt get tunnel vision
