Is it bad to leave after 1 year?
My boss is a super micro-manager & a control freak, which has made my life miserable. I only joined last year and the role / responsibilities were also completely misrepresented. I viewed my current role as one I would be in for 3-4 years but that looks like an impossibility now. I wanted to hear how bad it looks for me to move so soon? Should I just battle out another year or jump on any opportunities that come my way?
P.S I was in IB for 3 years and moved to an buy-side AM firm.
I think a year is fine as long as you don’t job hop every year. What are you looking to exit to?
I should have added more details, I am no longer in IB. I was in IB for 3 years and moved to an buy-side AM firm.
O ok. You were an ib associate and went to buy side AM?
No in IB directly but have friends and colleagues in S&T. I say if you got an offer go for it. A year is fine as long as not switching every year.
