Is it effective to have an MD/VP send in a referral for you if they are not in the group you are applying for?
I have an MD who is willing to send in a referral for me at a BB - while I am extremely grateful, the MD's division is separate from the one I intend to apply for (M&A). Would it still serve as a benefit? Asking to see if I should tailor my networking efforts.
