Is it ever too early to start networking?

Incoming freshman at Ross here. If I update my linkedin with everything done in high school (obviously things done in college will have a greater impact but I don't have that much as of right now), when would be the right time to start reaching out to ppl at banks I would potentially want to work at? Should I wait until college or what, any thoughts are appreciated.

Way too early, realistically start sophomore fall, maybe summer after freshman year

I expected ppl to say right now is too early, but wouldn't sophomore year be a little later if I'm trying to be early? I'm absolutely paranoid about making sure I'm actually able to break in and willing to do everything possible.

Summer earliest. Recruiting is usually headed by first year analysts, and those guys start during the summer. I don't think asking to chat after they've been on the job for four weeks is the greatest idea either, but if you're chatting with like an2, associates, etc it's probably fine to start towards the end of the summer

Honestly man; this is crazy early.

That said, make connections for clubs - reach out to peeps from your school that are there and when you get on campus here man, kill it. Go out for welcome week, make friends, and keep track of club rush. Go for top clubs and get them.

Best,
Ross sophomore
