Is it me or GS ghosted everyone? London Summer IBD

Hey hey.Is it just me not receiving a hirevue or does anyone else have the same issue?I applied to GS long ago and everyone I know who applied did not get even the hirevue invite. It's quite suspicious because 2 years ago with no experience on my resume and much worse formatting, I got at least a hirevue invite - this time around, silence.

What's happening? are they even hiring? Is it normal for Goldman to send hirevues late and hold ACs late? I don't think there has been an AC for GS in London yet…? Who is in the same boat and what gossips/rumours do you have to share on this?

Judging from the London progress / timeline threads, GS has sent out HireVues for IBSA. From what I have heard, they usually recruit quite late.

Further, there seems to be a lot of threads and talk about London recruiting being more difficult this year than previous years, perhaps due to the macroeconomic climate or something else, so it seems to not just be GS that eventually is more conservative when it comes to recruiting this year.

Hmm… I actually thought GS has sent zero to none hirevues for summer 2023 applicants. I only know few folks who received hirevue for IBD across all top unis… what’s going on.

S&T however has been sending out hirevues a lot.

Incoming GS SA here. (London)

I converted my Spring Weeks and I can tell you it is completely due to the incompetence of the IBD recruiting team.

This year’s Summer Analysts also complained about IBD HR incompetence during their background check and onboarding process.

After our AC (after Spring Weeks) they promised we would hear back two weeks later. Well, after constantly pushing it back I finally got my offer 4 months later.

Most only got rejected a couple of weeks ago. Which led to them missing application windows for other opportunities because they were so sure they had converted their spring week to an offer.

Goldman Sachs IBD had the lowest Spring Week conversion this year (roughly 25%) and most think its because of macroeconomic uncertainty and M&A activities slowing down.

Therefore, I expect the same to happen for general Summer Analyst recruiting. The extremely low amount of available spots plus the incompetence of the IBD recruiting team will lead to a lot of frustration in this year’s recruiting.

I can second this. They also said they would get back to this year’s summer interns after 2-3 weeks but some people are yet to hear back after what would be 2 months last time I checked. They aren’t transparent about their processes at all so don’t expect to know what’s going on until you hear back, I would suggest making sure you are applying to many other places. Hope this helps!

converted the spring for markets at GS - they're handled by completely different teams.
