Is it normal an employer asking for payslip without extending an offer?
Hi folks, I interviewed with an Asset Management firm. It went very well. They have checked my references and requested a copy of my diploma. Now the HR is asking for a copy of my most recent pay stub. The firm hasn't made me an offer yet! Is it normal? Should I send them my pay stub? I appreciate your inputs. Thanks!
Can't say that's ever happened to me. Would you rather not send it and not have the job? (not that that would happen for sure)
They wanted a copy of your diploma? Why don't they just look at the national student clearinghouse to verify?

I just finished a phone screening and they would like me to come in next week to show around the company and the interview. One of the request from HR was my current paystub and the W2 of the previous three years. Is this unusual or is it just me?
Maybe they want to verify my previous salary rather than calling my current company? Well if that was the case, I told them in the screening that the salary on my W2 was $3K more than what it really is and I told him that I'm not exactly sure, and that's in the rage. Since I'm currently on an hourly wage and non-exempt, it truly varies. Do you think this will be a problem?
My current position (accounting clerk) and the new position (operations analyst) are completely different. The hours are also different and I think that I gave them a fairl estimated salary I would like on the new position. In fact, I think I even went too low! If I get it down to an hourly wage, the only difference is about $1/hr.

How common is it for an employer to ask to verify employmeny with paystubs after making an offer? I don't have recent paystubs as I left my job a few weeks ago. I donmt want this to come and bite me in the arse.
