Is it possible to break into BX/KKR/TPG from a FIG background at Citi/BofA?

If you're asking this question...then probably not.
But if you think you are as good as anyone there and would fit in technically and culturally, and you bring a lot to the table, and you're working to show them that through interviews and networking....then yes.
Tons of people have done it. Buddy from Citi FIG is now an associate at KKR/Apollo PE. But echo the comment above, if you have this little confidence in yourself, then no.
