Is moving to Houston worth it?
I’ve got a solid offer in Houston, and I’m currently based in a Tier 1 city (NYC/LA/SF). The comp is a lot better than what I’m making now, so on paper it’s a strong move.
The catch: I only have a handful of friends in Houston, no other real ties there, and honestly I like where I live now — the city itself, the lifestyle, the network I’ve built.
Trying to figure out if the money and career upside are enough to justify starting over somewhere with a much thinner personal foundation. Would genuinely appreciate hearing from people who’ve made a similar jump (especially Tier 1 → Houston) — was it worth it?
