Is my job in danger?

Recently had a conversation with my manager and she asked me whether I “felt I had enough work to do”. My manager had also mentioned back in January that she would assess my need to the team but she hasn’t done anything yet since.

My team / company has been going through some restructurings for some context.

Was my manager’s question a sign that I will likely get cut?

Based on that post alone short answer is yes. Start applying asap.

Rule of thumb anytime your manager starts asking you out of the blue for a daily checklist of all the tasks that you’re doing it’s documentation to fire you. That’s their goal.

Hey, thanks for sharing. So my manager asked the question during our regular weekly check in meeting. Typically during those check in meetings, I would provide a list of what I worked on during the week so don’t think the protocol this time around was any different compared to the past. It’s just the question she asked made me feel that she thinks that my position isn’t exactly needed for the team to function

I have a question about those meetings. Did you always have those regular weekly check-in with your manager? Or did they just start happening out of the blue?
