Is this allowed? Should I do this?

I had an IB internship last year, but since then, I had an internship in another industry that is almost completely unrelated to IB. The problem is some jobs require you to list your full employment history starting with your most recent employer when you apply to those jobs. I don’t want to list the irrelevant internship as my most recent work experience as that may hurt my chances of being selected for an interview, especially since I already have a previous IB internship. On the other hand, I don’t want to get into trouble down the line for not listing my most recent employment. What do you think I should do?

Don't list it. They won't find out trust me, i'm 99.9% sure of that, unless you put it on your LinkedIn or elsewhere. Even if they do find out, just tell them you felt it best to list only the relevant experiences for the position and they'll understand. Don't overthink this, they won't.

I'd say if you're really worried, then don't list it on your resume, but list it on the online forms that firms make you fill out.
