Is this an interview?

I contacted an IB in LA asking about internship positions, if we could meet, ect. The guy I contacted passed me on to an analyst and he asked when I would be available for an in-person meeting. So I am set to meet with him and maybe the MD I contacted 4 hrs after I get off my flight home for thanksgiving break.

I do not know if this will be an interview or just a sit and chat type deal. Do I wear a suit and expect the interview? Or do i opt for just a shirt and tie? I would assume that it would be best to cover my bases and go in ready for an interview. What do you guys think?

In my original email I said "I was wondering if you might have a minute to discuss your job and offer me advice on how I could position myself for a summer internship"

suit yes tie no. remember you said chat, which may very well lead to a job but you dont want him to think "this kid came prepped for a job interview"

asiamoneyIt's unclear... but I'd recommend approaching it, and preparing for it, like an interview. Wear a suit and tie for sure.
