Is this MO or BO?

So i've got a role at a BB and this is what the bank defined the tasks that will take place as:

Assess current controls and identify control deficiencies
1) Develop measures to address these deficiencies
2) Management of Regulatory and internal CSAs
3) SOX control compliance
4) Liaising with Risk Technology to understand root cause analysis of technology issues
5) Change control agenda including testing current and new control environment
6) BCC Submissions

It's bundled as a MO risk type role but some of the tasks seems boring and heavily ops based such as the Sarbanes–Oxley complience and liaising with risk technology.

Why does it matter? Anyway, it doesn't sound like traditional risk mgmt to me.

It matters as it would impact both the skills I gain and my career opportunities.

So where on the spectrum from FO>MO>BO would you say it stands?

I wouldn't worry about classifying it. Too many of you are worried about the BO/MO differences. It's almost like you're trying to make yourself feel better.

The description looks like it's closer to compliance and/or ops. So those are the skill sets you are going to acquire for your future opportunities. Knowing if it's BO or MO is not going to help you, is it? You're not going to walk into your next job interview and say "I did middle office things", right? No, you're going to talk about how you were exposed to certain compliance or operations responsibilities.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.
