It is much more likely that the people in your network just happen to be unsuccessful at recruiting. Banks are definitely taking as large or larger classes than they have in years past. We took tons of kids at my BB

Where do you go to school? You are posting anonymously so you might as well just tell us so we can help. Not all top 10 schools recruit the same.

Duke has slightly worse name recognition in the NE just because people don't think of it as much (IMO). In all likelihood, your sample size is probably too small as kids shouldn't have much trouble coming from Duke.

Well, once you're done with the technical interview guide, don't forget the behavioral interview guide. Practice (in the mirror or with a friend) the 20 or so most common behavioral questions about 10 time each. No matter what kind of behavioral you get (within reason), you just revert back to one of your canned responses. People often neglect behavioral and think they can just wing it. Big mistake. Even the kids who are outgoing and well-spoken need to practice. Other than that, there are no real secrets. Best thing to do is apply EVERYWHERE (yes, even Wells Fargo, yes, even the small boutiques). At the end of the day, it is much more fun to have an IB offer from somewhere than nowhere. You can always decline the offer and keep the practice.

Lmao what?? I go to duke, and tons of people have gotten offers, including myself (haven't posted yet on linkedin tho)
