Job Help! Good experience for PE roles?

Hello everyone,

I’m on my search for a new job and I came across something very interesting. It’s a startup company that co-owns small businesses and makes themselves business partners. The role entails evaluation of acquisitions and execution of deal process. The candidate will develop valuation models and provide return metrics along with gathering of financials from target company for the due diligence process. Does anyone know if this would be in line for a future role in Venture Capital, Growth Capital, or PE? I appreciate anyone’s help. Let me know if you need me to provide any more details.

Thanks

From the description it seemed good experience. They were targeting small veterinary shops (1-4MM in annual revenue) and plan to close +10 acquisitions per year. They’re also funded by a PE firm. Just wanted to get some opinions from people who are in the industry I am looking for (VC/PE) to see if this is something they would even consider interviewing. Thanks!

Sounds like a really good opportunity to work on some sort of deal flow. I’m not an IB or PE guy but I think this is solid for experience to augment the networking you’ll be doing to break into late stage VC or PE. Most of those jobs aren’t publicly posted. Solid start for young guys. If you get it and they pay you, it’s better than having no related job if that industry is what your heart is set on. Unless a bb in like S&T is your other option or something safer for career wise haha.
