JP Morgan Sales and Trading Summer Analyst Superday Decisions

Hello,

I just had my superday at JP Morgan for S&T this past Friday. I think my interviews all went really well, and I had great conversations regarding the markets, my investments, my future ambitions, the Duke-UNC rivalry (I'm a Dukie), etc. I just heard that one of the other kids from my school who was also interviewing at JP yesterday has already heard back with an offer. I was the only one from my school in my interviewers' group, and I reached out to a couple of people from my group and they haven't heard back yet. I was just wondering how common it is to hear back later if others have heard back immediately after? Is Monday likely to be day?

Thanks a lot,

I had my superday in early December and heard back with an offer 1 week later. I've heard many instances of candidates hearing back that they don't have an offer the same day as their superday, so I think it really varies and I would not read too much into it.

Know current affairs really well and be prepared to talk about issues in depth. Current affairs came up in every single one of my interviews and one interviewer asked a lot of questions. Good luck!

S&T: i had 2 phone interviews with equity derivatives sales a few weeks ago. One was with an Executive Director from equity derivatives sales team in hk, and the second was with head of distribution of SE Asia equity derivatives group HQed in Singapore. Still waiting back from them.

IBD: had 2 phone interviews with an analyst and an associate, and just attended the superday in London yesterday. Still waiting back.

Hadwhoken, who did you interview with?

nomad22, did you apply to both S&T and IBD for JPM HK and got interviews for both?

I got 2 rounds. First round I had 2 interviews, one with some head of derivative sales in HK and another with a singapore woman. For second round, I interviewed with a derivative trader from hk and a guy from jpm Korea. Still waiting to hear back from them as well, however, some people from another forum already received final day invite. I wonder whether they will send out more or if I have already been rejected.

where do you go to school nomad22?

hey just wondering if you guys heard back from JP after the second round. I also had interviews with equity derivatives from HK the first week in january.

nomad22/hadwhoken

Moving to HK in March to start in equity derivs. PM if you're moving there/want to meet up?

I'm a MMer though so remember we're arch nemeses ;)

Moving tonnes of product. Making fat stacks.

nomad22hey are offers out for SA S&T at JPM? I had my final round interview two weeks ago, and still haven't heard back...

Same situation as nomad22, still haven't heard back.

Had a JPM superday for S&T a couple of years ago. My own experience was 5 interviews of 30 min each with different people across asset classes. Each has their own style and will ask you questions based on that.

Know what's going on in the markets, be able to take an opinion on what is going on/what you think will happen. Be able to answer why JPM, why S&T, strengths, weaknesses, all fit questions, a couple of "tell me about a time" ones. They might ask where JPM, the S&P, Dow, Nazz, Treasuries, Gold, Oil, etc. are all trading. Overall you want to show your passion for the markets, be as energetic and enthusiastic as possible, and emphasize your hunger and desire to get your foot in the door. If you don't know something then just tell them.

^This...plus be as relaxed as possible. It's unlikely that you will get grilled. Personality matters most.

hello1991How did you get such an early superday at JPM? Study abroad? Networking? (Congrats!)
I submitted my resume 2 weeks ago on my school's career site. Someone called last week asking for a phone interview. I had that interview in the beginning of this week and got invited to the super day just yesterday. I'm amazed myself!

When did you apply? I was encouraged to send in my resume for the position about a month ago and have not heard anything back yet.

Hi could you share when did you receive the final round invitation and when will it happen? Is it through phone or email? I got the first round too, and had a very pleasant conversation with the interviewer. Then received an email starts with "Hi all", which told me that the final round will be held before 13th Jan. Then there is no more notifications on my side.
