JPM Real Estate First Round

Does anyone have any insight into the questions or the percentage of behavioral questions? I have a first-round interview in a few days and would love to know a little about what to expect beyond the standard questions.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, J.P. Morgan's first-round interviews, particularly for roles like Real Estate, tend to focus heavily on behavioral questions. While technical questions are less common, you should still be prepared for a mix of both. Behavioral questions are designed to assess your past actions, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and alignment with the firm's values.

Here are some examples of behavioral questions that have been reported in J.P. Morgan interviews:

  1. Why J.P. Morgan?
  2. Why Investment Banking (or Real Estate, depending on the role)?
  3. Describe a situation where you had to collaborate with a difficult colleague.
  4. Give an example of how you've worked on a team.
  5. Talk about a time when you solved a problem and had to incorporate a diverse set of perspectives in the solution.
  6. Tell us about a unique leadership experience of yours.

For preparation: - Practice concise and structured answers using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). - Prepare 2-3 stories that can be adapted to various behavioral questions, such as teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving scenarios. - Be ready to discuss how your background and skills align with the role.

Additionally, for video interviews, you may have 30 seconds to prepare and up to 90 seconds to respond to each question. Stay calm, speak clearly, and maintain eye contact with the camera.
