Laid off for 4 Months

It’s been 4 months since I’ve been laid off (experienced analyst).

My coverage was relatively niche so have been struggling with getting back into a similar role but have kept my net wide in terms of recruiting.

Am I right in thinking the market has been really slow over the last few months (and specifically in July/august) or is my CV gap really that much of a red flag.

Not sure if this is a rant or asking for advice but honestly feel so lost now and would appreciate any input or guidance.

London based if relevant.
